I always like to keep my studio refreshed … to keep me inspired and so that repeat clients have a different look to their images. This year I made some major changes and I’m very excited to start to share all those changes with you!
Just so you are aware, I use every inch of my studio and I have so many different sets. Everything was updated. I feel like I was at AtHome, HomeGoods, Marshalls, Kirklands, etc 4 times a week while I tried out different things. And, I even used some older stuff that I had placed in my storage area that I completely forgot about! I was always bringing bags home..Mr. Chick would ask what for, and I told him to mind his business! hahaha.
Today I’m going to focus on some of the changes to the living room set, as I like to call it. That beautiful red Victorian Sofa is still in my studio but I’m no longer going to use it for boudoir sessions. I purchased a gorgeous and luxurious green velvet sofa from Wayfair that I am absolutely in love with. It’s so much more versatile than the victorian sofa and some of the poses are even easier than before … Imagine that – posing being easy?!?!
Check out some of the new stuff!!
The sofa has a wider back and armrests, which allow for some killer shots! Just take a look at my beautiful friend/client – I had her climbing up, around and all over the sofa to try everything I had in my head. This is stuff I could never do before so I’m excited to incorporate this posing into my sessions!
Also, in the bedroom, the entire room feels brand new. The headboard has been replaced, new linens, lamps, room decor, and a brand new ornate mirror — more on that in a future blog post.
Here is some of the new posing on the bed, and note the dramatic use of the light. Oh, I love how I can use the light to my advantage!
Notice the fireplace?! Oh, you didn’t. Neither did I until I edited the images! haha
The fireplace got an update too. A basket with blankets and pillows, a lantern, candles, mantle decor including a mirror and two empowering signs that fit perfectly for what I do with my sessions!
There’s more to come! Stay tuned.
