Sometimes inspiration comes from all places.  People ask all the time where I get inspiration for my boudoir shoots.  The most obvious answer is that inspiration is found in each of my clients.  I had a client ask me recently if I ever get bored – I said HECK NO!!!  Each client is different, outfits are different, and – most importantly – my connection with each client is unique – I could never get bored!  But, I do look for inspiration in all places…art museums, TV shows, architecture.  I tend to see things differently.

When I get inspired for a shoot, I typically ask one of my past clients to be a muse for something I’m envisioning.  Any client that has let me share their photos on my blog is on a short list of who I approach when I need to test something out.  This beautiful woman was one of those individuals.  I adore her lips, her eyes and her glorious curves!

I had the idea to do some different types of posing and lighting for my shoots.  And, at the end of her shoot from testing those changes (more coming on the blog soon about that) I decided to do something I hadn’t done in a few years – use some tulle!  The tulle setup is something that’s so classic and pure, and I find that it really lets my clients shine in their boudoir photos.  No fancy props, no outrageous outfits – just a gorgeous woman wrapped in some tulle!  It really brought me back and I enjoyed it so much.  A lot has changed in my work since I last used tulle in my shoots – and more importantly, the emotion in my images has changed.  So, I loved seeing the “New Maura” with an old setup!

I’m completely convinced that every woman should do a tulle session!  Since posting some of these photos in my private boudoir group on Facebook, clients have been asking to incorporate tulle into their shoots — oh yes!!!

Here are just a few photos:
