A Year in Review {Pittsburgh Boudoir & Wedding Photographer}

2013 was a great year for Pics By Chicks Photography.  We’ve been extremely blessed with some amazing clients, and you’ve each touched our lives in amazing ways.  Thanks for your consistent support.  We look forward to serving you in 2014 and the many years to come!

I look back at 2013 with great fondness.  Our photography business has grown tremendously.  I was scared to take the leap into photography – all the things that people worry about in life came to my mind – are we good enough? Will we survive?  How do we stand apart from everyone else?  Will people like us?

I really feel that our year was successful.  Many clients, many different photographic opportunities – we spread our wings for sure!  We’ve been working on standing out from other photographers – what makes us different?  Well, the experience makes us different.  I love that our clients have fun during their sessions – we like to laugh … and I [Maura] have been known to openly make fun of Tony!  That’s our schtick! 🙂 Our Christmas Mini-Sessions – I spent hours making chocolate chip cookies – so that after the shoots we could spend time with our clients eating cookies and drinking milk!  We love to get to know everyone.  It’s an experience with The Chicks!  Let us give you an experience in 2014!!!

We had so many laughs during our photo shoots.  As I think back over the year, I keep coming back to one particular moment that stopped us all in our tracks.  The winner of the funniest moment from 2013 photo shoots……..drum roll……the dubious honor belongs to the Platts family.  During their session, Sara and H’s son, Simon, looked at me and said, “Is that your dad?”  He was referring to Tony!  Oh goodness! 🙂 I just laughed.  For those of you that don’t know – Tony is older than me…but I assure you – he is my husband, not my father!  We had a great laugh!!!  I’m sure Sara & H were embarrassed but we found it hysterical.  We make fun of ourselves so we can easily laugh at the things kids say!

We’ve made decisions on how to focus our photography for 2014 – that means eliminating some services from our offerings and working on developing those areas of photography we absolutely love!  2014 is going to be a great year for us and we are so excited for what is ahead.

Here is a collection of some photos from 2013 sessions!  Thanks again to our amazing clients – your support has been so amazing – and we are forever grateful to you for all you’ve done to build our business!

Happy New Year!

Much love,

Maura & Tony Chick
