Today’s Matrimony Monday post is about shoes! We have to talk shoes, ladies! Over the past several months of our weddings I’ve noticed something that I’d really like to address.
I love shoes. I used to have a shoe obsession that took quite some time to break.
I love wedding shoes. The more glitz, the better! I love all those sparkles and colors – my camera loves them too. I love walking into the bride’s room to see those gorgeous shoes waiting for me!
Here’s the problem. I have had some brides who ended their portraits early because 1) their feet hurt; 2) they didn’t want to walk into the grass and sink into the ground. Yes, portraits were ended because of shoe issues. Fine by me – I work for my couples – and if they want to stop, then we stop.
Here’s the truth. Most wedding shoes are completely uncomfortable. I couldn’t imagine wearing my wedding shoes for 8-10 hours! And, while we love the glitz, we need to be practical about our footwear on wedding day. Reason being during your bridal portraits you’re going to be walking around a little and you want to be comfortable so that we can get the shots we need.
