It was a very sunny but beautiful September Friday at SNPJ – wonderful weather for a wonderful couple on their wonderful wedding day! 🙂

Katie is one of the talented ladies behind The Brush – Mobile Hair & Makeup Artistry.  I met Katie when I was looking for hair & makeup people to partner with for my boudoir sessions, and we hit it off immediately!  I have enjoyed every minute of getting to know Katie (and Elyse too) and was so honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding.

We didn’t get a chance to have their engagement session prior to the wedding (we’re doing their engagement photos in October…an almost 2 month anniversary session!) so I hadn’t met Mike prior to the wedding.  I was warned by Katie that he has a hard time with pictures.  Challenge accepted!!!  We had a beautiful day with them and their families.  I really connected with Katie’s mom and I feel like she’s a part of my family now! 🙂 I love getting to meet all these people thru my job as a photographer and building connections that are going to last a lifetime.

As we were leaving the reception, Mike pulled me aside and said that I was a great photographer and I made the photos fun and easy!  He thanked me multiple times!  Mission accomplished!!

Ok, so Katie wanted some pictures of her and her grandfather.  Most people that know me (Maura) know that I was very close with my grandfather – he was my best friend & we did everything together.  I always had this dream of my both my dad and grandfather walking me down the aisle, but he passed away before I got married.  The pictures of Katie and her grandfather hold a very special place in my heart and I hope she cherishes these photos as much as I do.  I started to tear up while taking them!

Love Mother/Daughter pictures!  I always like to take these special photos because sometimes the Mom doesn’t get a special moment with her daughter.  It’s usually Dad walking her down the aisle and then he gets to dance!  I made sure to get some nice photos of Katie and her beautiful mother!

Mike’s brother (to the right of Katie) was a hoot!

These are Katie’s parents, Paula and Ron.  As the sun was setting, I took them out for a little photo shoot.  Aren’t they a GORGEOUS couple?!?!  I love them so much and can’t wait to spend time with them again!
