I’m a woman of many emotions and I’m as real as they come. I have so many feelings as I stand behind the camera and capture my client’s beauty. Those emotions inevitably come out – a scream, a yell, a fist pump, a dance, a jump, sometimes even a curse word. I can’t control the way I feel about what I see in my clients – a sultry look, an unknowing glance, a sparkle in their eye, a surge of confidence, a moment of reflection as they realize their own beauty.

Sometimes those emotions come out as tears. There are a few of you in this group (you know who you are) who I’ve cried with – that’s how much these sessions touch my life. Sometimes, I just quietly cry to myself behind the camera. This was one of those moments. I set the scene, told my client how to place her hands, then I stepped back, snapped a few photos, and started to get a tear in my eye. Seeing this gentle and quiet moment in the session stopped me in my tracks.

I feel so much passion and excitement for this job, and I want my clients to have that same passion and excitement about themselves! I LOVE LOVE LOVE sharing this experience with women! I’m not a total sap, but the passion I have is my motivation to keep pushing along my journey!

A couple of weeks ago we kicked off our wedding season with Kayla and Ty Torrence! WHAT A BLAST!

I first met Kayla’s family while I was taking senior photos for her younger brother, Curtis. Kim, Kayla’s mother, and I hit it off instantly and spent the senior session talking and having fun. Kim happened to mention that Kayla was getting married soon and was looking for a wedding photographer. I love to do it all and happily told her about my services. When Kayla and I met, we clicked instantly! I could tell that the couple was really in love and were very excited to get married.

During our first meeting, I could tell that Ty was a little shy but as soon as we began discussing the wedding he just lit up and showed how excited he was to marry Kayla.  Kayla later told me that he’s never talked that much to someone he didn’t know so she KNEW I was the photographer for them! haha 🙂

Not only was I booked to photograph their wedding but they booked me for their engagement photos as well! This was a truly great experience as I got to photograph the happy couple and learn more about them before their big day! Finally, after what felt like forever, their big day came! Of course, since we live in Pennsylvania, the weather wasn’t as cooperative as we hoped but after a short rain shower, the day became perfect as the sky brightened up! The day was filled with family and friends all celebrating a new chapter for Kayla and Ty to begin.

I absolutely loved being able to be a part of Kayla and Ty’s wedding and can’t wait for what the future will bring!

The Victoria’s Secret Tunic

 In this boudoir photos Pittsburgh blog post, I show you a few photos of a new piece of lingerie I just purchased for my collection.   This piece has quickly become a favorite of mine as it photographs beautifully and can look amazing on a wide range of body shapes!

I am always looking for lingerie to add to my collection and back in January I saw this elegant lace tunic at Victoria’s Secret on their bridal boutique page and knew that it would photograph beautifully. However, I didn’t buy it because I couldn’t justify spending the money but two days later I was regretting this decision. Apparently everyone else in the world loved this top as much as I did because I could not find it anywhere! It was sold out online, I called the catalogue only for them to tell me it was sold out and they didn’t know if it would be back in stock, and when I called store after store they already knew I was calling about this tunic since everyone else had been searching as well!

I was devastated, yes, DEVASTATED!

I was running out of options and had taken to eBay to hopefully find this tunic and after days of searching and hoping, there it was. The seller must have realized that this tunic is truly special and sold it for more than Victoria’s Secret, I won’t even begin to tell you how much I spent on it, but finally this tunic is MINE!

In this blog post, I am highlighting the first photo shoot I’ve done with this top and it is amazing, even better than I thought it would be! If I could, I would use this tunic in every photo shoot.  It’s a size medium but is considered oversized so it will look amazing even if you’re a size extra large. I love having my clients feel beautiful and this tunic does that for everyone.

If you’re interested in using this tunic in your shoot head over to Victoria’s Secret and pick up a pair of panties in the coconut white color, this will really make the whole outfit come together and just look gorgeous in photos.

Hard Work

Taking control of your health is hard work!  And, it’s a constant battle.  I know from personal experience having once weighed in at over 350 pounds!  When this gorgeous woman came to me, she wanted to celebrate herself!  Her answer to why she wanted to do a session >> “Who doesn’t want to feel sexy?!?”

Perfect response.

I loved that she wanted to celebrate herself – she has worked hard for this body, which makes me slightly less jealous! haha.  But, there is no better reason for a session than to just do something for yourself.  While most women come to me and have a reason for their shoot (anniversary, wedding, birthday), they tell me after their shoot that the experience turned into something for themselves.  Score!

My goal with each session is to make you feel good about yourself!  The gorgeous photos – as I often say – are just a bonus!  I want you to feel amazing, awesome, beautiful, sexy … and so many other wonderful things!

You are worth the investment!!!  Invest in yourself this year.  Do something just for you!  You won’t regret it at all!! 🙂

My Cherished Victorian

OK, I’ve featured my Victorian Sofa a few times before on the blog! It’s probably one of the best props I have for my photo shoots and my clients LOVE it…as do I!

The truth is … I bargained on this thing, and bargaining with people is not my strong suit!  I found it at a consignment shop and went to check it out.  They had it listed at too high a price – in my opinion – and I asked about a lower price … something I NEVER do, but it was a consignment shop!  They said they were having a sale this weekend and hoping it would sell.  So, I walked away – told them I’d be back on Monday to talk.  I was the bad cop – I wasn’t going to give in to the pressure!

I went back on Monday.  It was still there.  In my mind, I’m now thinking, “This sofa was meant to be mine.” But, I didn’t let it show.  I told them again what my bottom line price would be on it, and they just stood there and looked at me.  I didn’t say a word.  She finally came back with a higher price, I said “Well, with tax that puts me way above my budget.”

She relented!  SCORE!

One problem >> We don’t have a truck. I scheduled a U-haul rental to pick it up.  Yup, serious business.  When I picked Mr. Chick up to go get the sofa, he complained.  He complained the whole way back to the store.  His biggest complaint was that I’m “NEVER GOING TO USE THIS!”

Who’s laughing now, Mr. Chick?!?!  ME!  Because I’m using this at most of my shoots and have even taken it outside for a family photo shoot…and t will be the centerpiece of my Christmas mini sessions this year.

The sofa is fantastic and it’s the perfect piece in my collection!
