Baby G {Pittsburgh Children Photographer}

Oh, sweet baby G!

It was such a treat to get to do his 6-month photos.  It was so great to have a happy HAPPY baby on my hands.  Much different than the screaming newborn I had a few months back!  🙂 My how much changes in just 6 short months.

He loves to laugh, which makes my job a little easier!

This is one of my favorite ages to photograph.  Do you know why?  Here’s the truth…they can’t run away from me!!!

I can put a 6 month old in a chair, crate or laying on the floor and they can’t get away (well, at least not easily)…that means more photos for mom and dad.  In all honesty, the joy and happiness that this age shows in their expressions is priceless.  It’s an age that I ALWAYS recommend my clients capture.

Now, let’s see what he’s like at the year mark – I can already tell he’s going to be an active kid.  Good luck, Jess & Adam! haha.

Here are a few of my favorite photos.

I am a photographer who likes to have fun and I love to laugh – especially at myself.  One thing I’m known to do with my clients is caption my photos.  My caption for the photo below…

“You talkin’ to me?”

Yup, baby G, I’m talking to you.  Now, look over here!Pittsburgh Children & Family Photographer

Umm..have you noticed his amazing eyelashes!  Pittsburgh Children & Family Photographer

I love this little collage.  He’s such a cute lil munchkin and I just want to squeeze him!

Beautiful Boudoir {Pittsburgh Boudoir Photographer}

NOTE:
All images shared with permission.

I love working with my clients.  They are so willing to take chances and step out of their comfort zone during our boudoir sessions.  This shoot was no exception.

As a photographer, I find inspiration in a lot of things.  Sometimes I’m inspired by the shooting location, other times it’s the light.  With this shoot (as with most), it was my client – no doubt.  I was so inspired by her purpose of doing this shoot (for her husband), her look during the session, the fun we had…the list goes on.  Plain and simple – it was an inspiring and uplifting session.  I had a model on my hands by the end of the day – I actually had to force myself to stop taking photos of her!  I’ve been dying to share some of these photos but I had to wait til her hubby saw them first.

What a treat it was to share the day with her!

Cindy & Ed – A Preview {Pittsburgh, Bethel Park Wedding Photographer}

Our 2014 wedding season officially opened yesterday!!!  Woo hoo – we’re so excited to begin the journey with our couples this year!

One preview photo for now of Cindy and Ed’s wedding yesterday at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park.  We had such a great time with their family, friends and church community.  Cindy is one of the Pastors at the church and she wanted to open up her wedding ceremony to the entire church.  It was touching to see the number of people that showed up to witness their nuptials.  She is truly loved within her church and the Bethel Park community!

I can’t wait to go thru all their photos.  Congrats to a beautiful and loving couple!

Sarah {Pittsburgh Senior & Portrait Photographer}

In the frigid cold, we had a photo shoot with Sarah.  I’m sooo ready for the weather to get warmer.   Who’s with me?!?!  I’m thankful to have clients willing to brave the cold weather but I miss the sun and COLOR.  Just give me some color on the trees!  That’s a pretty simple request, Mother Nature! 🙂

A little over a year ago, I photographed Sarah.  I wanted to take her out again to use her session as a true evaluation of my progression as a photographer.  Wow, I’m shocked and amazed at the journey I’ve been on in the last year.  What I thought was a good photo one year ago, I cringe at the site of it now.  Yikes. What was I thinking?!?  I’m sure in one year time I’ll look back on the photos below and think the same thing.  But, (not to boast) I think I’ve come a long way from where I was, which is encouraging.

I think as a photographer it’s good to evaluate your progress – where you’ve been, where you’re going, how you can improve, etc.  If it’s just status quo, then I’m not growing as a photographer, and I want to grow and learn with each photo session & wedding.  I always want to take something away that I can do better – it shows me that I’m open to learning and understanding more about this business that I LOVE!

Running a photography business is more than just lighting and camera settings (those are critical, yes).  We also have to know how to work with clients, how to pose clients, how to present our work to clients, etc.  One thing I’ve really worked on in the last year is my posing.  And, Sarah even said during the session that the direction I gave her was light years better than last year.  YAY!  Exactly what I wanted to hear.

It’s been a great ride and I’m excited to take Sarah out next year to do another evaluation.  🙂 Enjoy some of these photos from her shoot….
