Building Self Confidence

What do you do when you feel like you’re falling apart?  You step in front of my camera!

When you feel like you don’t have confidence?  You get in front of my camera!

When you feel like you aren’t yourself?  You get your self in front of my camera!

When you feel like you’ll never be good enough?  Get in front of my camera!

When you feel like you’ll never be happy with your body? You guessed it … you get yourself in front of my camera!

However you feel about yourself, I am a safe place for you.  A place to let it all out, to share it and embrace every part of you.  Seeing you for who you are in this moment is the best thing I could hope for!

Here is what this beauty had to say about her session:

1) Why did you decide to invest in a boudoir photo shoot?  I wanted to build my self confidence back. I went through a recent break up from a relationship that was over four years long and it shattered me. He left me when I needed him the most, when my entire world was falling apart and I was so depressed that hating my body escalated. He left me for another woman, destroyed me from the inside/out. I met a new man and slowly began getting my confidence back and decided on doing this photo shoot was going to boost it over the edge.

2) How did you feel about yourself before your photo shoot?  I was never a fan of my body, ever. I always criticized, critiqued and put myself down constantly. I would almost dress like a ‘man’ because I felt comfortable in that type of clothing.

3) How did you feel about yourself after your photo shoot?  I honestly am so proud of my body, I shocked myself by doing this photo shoot and now I am in LOVE with myself again! The best decision I ever made and so happy I went through with doing this photo shoot.

4) Describe your session in 3 words?  AMAZING. BEAUTIFUL. FUN.

5) What was your favorite part of the boudoir photo shoot?  The genuine laughter that we all shared over the course of almost 4 hours!

6) What would you say to other women who are considering a boudoir photo shoot?  DO IT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Amazing and Life-Changing

I am so excited to share this session with you!  This woman is simply amazing.  She was scheduled to have her session as a wedding gift, but things did not work out with her and her fiancé.  She decided to keep her session anyway as a way to celebrate herself.  I can say this a million times – boudoir is something you should do for YOURSELF, not anyone else.  While most clients initially contact me for a gift for someone else, they soon realize that it’s truly about them.  And for me, it is.  Every single aspect of my being makes this experience about them – I want to uplift them, encourage them, help them shine, make them see the beauty that is inside them!  We don’t often see it because we’re far too focused on our outer looks, but that beauty that you possess inside radiates during the session!

I love getting to bring that out in women!

Here she is in her own words:

1) Why did you decide to invest in a boudoir photo shoot?  I was originally doing the shoot for a wedding/honeymoon present, but decided to keep my shoot schedule and use the experience for myself.

3) How did you feel about yourself after your photo shoot?  I feel great. I am much more happier with myself; a lot of people have said they notice me being happier. And I have much more confidence with myself and my body.

5) What was your favorite part of the boudoir photo shoot?  My favorite part of the shoot was “playing dress up and Maura putting me in different outfits to try, and then getting to wear those outfits for the shoot and feeling good in them.

6) What would you say to other women who are considering a boudoir photo shoot?  I just want to say that whether you are scared or nervous or just not sure about the whole experience (like I was), DO it anyways, you will NOT be disappointed at all. Maura makes you feel so comfortable the whole entire time, and it is a fun experience.

Allowed to Be You – Empowered Women

Permission? Permission to be yourself? Sounds weird, but we struggle to give our selves permission to be our truest self! In fact, most women are slow to even acknowledge and (GASP!) CELEBRATE themselves.
We have been taught to believe that being confident is conceited and cocky. My mission is to change this way of thinking! One thing that I have incorporated into my boudoir shoot experience is at the end of each client’s shoot, we take a Polaroid selfie. My client then chooses her own superpower and writes that on the photo. One of the reasons I do this is because we do not need to wait on someone else to acknowledge that we are powerful, unique beings. It is time for us to accept and celebrate who we are and the unique attributes that set us apart! We are so quick to pick apart our bodies with a critical eye. Then we compare ourselves to others and our self worth and acceptance plummets!
So I was inspired to do this group shoot with my clients. Each of my special ladies chose a word that they embody. In their words, they are Gracious, Creative, Strong, Worthy, Funny and Courageous.
Throughout they day, I saw my clients embrace their individuality. A beautiful break through happens in that embrace. I had the pleasure of witnessing these women experience total freedom from their perceived flaws as they celebrate themselves and each other. With an individual’s boudoir shoot, you see yourself through MY eyes. But the ladies that experience a group shoot get to see themselves through not only MY eyes, but also through the eyes of the other women.
When standing with a group of women that empower and uplift one another, everyone rises a little higher. They stand taller and more confident because of the infectious, positive aura that they exude. Thank you ladies for being a part of something so special!
Here are some of my favorite photos of the day.

Time to Celebrate Myself

I don’t know how to begin to explain the awesomeness that is this woman.  When I look back over my career, she is one of the clients I’ve seen the biggest shift since her first session!  She came to me last year all nervous and not sure she could do this, to a woman who now stands confidently in who she is, embraces all of herself, and celebrates who she is.  She stands up for what is right, knows how she wants to be treated, and won’t stand for anything less!  I have loved watching her transform – she has fully invested in her self-love journey and knows what she needs to continue to have a healthy and loving relationship with herself!

I share with you some photos from her most recent session with me, along with what she had to say about her boudoir experience!

******

1) Why did you decide to invest in a boudoir photo shoot?  This one was definitely for me !!!! Time to celebrate myself ! Time to see the confidence I have gained this past year in the form of a photo

2) How did you feel about yourself before your photo shoot?  Great ! This was my second shoot. After my first shoot a year ago I worked on myself (with Maura’s help). All of her encouragement and self love workshops in the Facebook group have really made me step back and take a look at who I am and who I want to be.

3) How did you feel about yourself after your photo shoot?  100 times more empowered than I did before I walked in. Maura’s words to me during the shoot just builds you up so much and guess what I finally believe it all !!!!!!

4) Describe your session in 3 words?  Invigorating Eye opening Workout

5) What was your favorite part of the boudoir photo shoot?  Definitely my on location outdoor portion ! Even though it was hard to get to Maura was such a trooper and we were able to have a great time tons of laughs and just a fun day I need to have. Memories I will never forget. Something someday I can show my kids and tell them that mom didn’t just sit back and watch other people do things ……. she did stuff too !!

6) What would you say to other women who are considering a boudoir photo shoot?  Please please please don’t hesitate ! The longer you wait the longer it will take for you to have the most amazing feeling. Book it as soon as you can. You can’t even imagine the feeling until you experience it first hand.

Beautiful, Gorgeous, HOT

This woman is someone I’ve known since I was young.  She’s had a prior session with me that was just for herself, but this time she wanted to come to give her husband a gift for their anniversary.  She was going to keep it a surprise but caved and told him what she was doing for his gift.  He asked, “Oh man. I have no idea what to get you for our anniversary.” She responded, “The session with Maura is the gift to me.  The photos are the gift to you.”

BINGO!!  I love this, and was absolutely honored to have her back here for another session with me.

Here’s what she said about her second session:

1) Why did you decide to invest in a boudoir photo shoot?  As a gift to my husband and myself for our 20th wedding anniversary. Being that I had a prior shoot with Maura, I knew that this was just the thing I needed and he would love it too!

2) How did you feel about yourself before your photo shoot?  Honestly, after a previous shoot and following along in the FB group and just generally taking time to think about and make some adjustments to life in general, I was really starting to appreciate and embrace ME! Are there days when I only see flaws? Yes. Or feel like I have no clue what I’m doing? Yes. However, I’m making a real effort to toss all the negative out with the trash.

3) How did you feel about yourself after your photo shoot?  AMAZING!!! It was confirmation that I am indeed beautiful, gorgeous, HOT!! MORE than just physically but soul-fully too!

4) Describe your session in 3 words?  Butt, Boobs, CURVES

5) What was your favorite part of the boudoir photo shoot?  Spending the day with Maura! Talking, laughing, crying, yelling, dancing – what a fabulous way to spend an afternoon.

6) What would you say to other women who are considering a boudoir photo shoot?  Just do it!

At the end of every session, I have each client stand in front of the empowerment wall for one final photo!  It’s the culmination of everything we’ve been through that day!  It’s something that lasts a lifetime!
