All of my boudoir shoots are special and truly unique since every client is different. However, it’s extra special for me when I have a friend come in and trusts me enough to do a boudoir shoot for them. When I’m with my friends every day, I see their beauty but I don’t ever talk about boudoir or me wanting them to do a boudoir but in the back of my mind I’m thinking, “Man,  I can’t wait until she contacts me to do a boudoir.”

I’ve talked about why I photograph boudoir before but I love it. I have a passion for boudoir and working with women is something really special for me. Seeing transformations in the women I photograph, not just through how they look but through their confidence, is one of the reasons why I love my job. After her shoot, this woman couldn’t stop telling me how amazing she felt and that to me is something special. I feel like women should feel good about themselves everyday and I know that somedays are better than others but it’s amazing to see what happens and what comes out of these sessions, not for me but for them. I hear things that marriages are getting stronger, relationships with themselves are stronger, and that’s something hard for me to put into words. Why do I do it? If I’m really thinking about it, at the end of the day, it’s because I like to make women feel the way I never felt about myself. I don’t feel bad about myself in this moment and I’ve accepted who I am but when I was younger, I never felt confident in who I was.

That’s how I felt about this woman. We’ve been good friends for years, were in each other’s weddings, and when she finally decided to take a leap into a boudoir shoot, I was so excited about it. All day I was being contacted by her husband as he was so excited for this photo shoot but I was so happy to be able to give her this experience.

I’m a part of my friend’s daily lives, I get to see what their struggles are, what their accomplishments are, and I get to share in that. When I know that I have a friend who needs a boudoir shoot, it’s added pressure for me that I give her a day where she’s not worried about the kids, not worried about getting dinner ready. She’s just worried about herself and having a good time. I love to see my clients and friends smile or laugh during their shoots, it makes me giddy inside.

And good news for all my clients – you become friends! 🙂

 In this boudoir photos Pittsburgh blog post, I show you a few photos from a new lighting system I purchased for the studio.  I wasn’t too sure I’d like what I bought because it’s so different from what I currently use, but after a few shoots I can honestly say that I love it!  This one system has completely changed the way I use some of my setups and I love it!

Women are something to be celebrated.  I know I’ve said that before, but it’s the honest truth.  I love celebrating women through boudoir photo shoots.  Sounds strange, maybe, but there’s something so raw and real about these sessions that make them an absolutely wonderful experience for women.  When everything is stripped away, you have this new found respect for all you have.  And, I love when women embrace themselves!

I’m so happy that I stumbled upon my passion.  Yes, boudoir is my passion – my calling – my life’s work!  I was made for this job.  I can’t do anything else but this.  I remember struggling through Corporate America and saying to Tony [my husband] all the time, “I just can’t do this anymore.”  Maybe with a few tears in my eyes.  When you know what you want, what you were made for, what you were CALLED to do, you don’t want to do anything else.

I’m happy to have found my passion in celebrating women through the medium of photography.  I don’ know what else I’d do with myself at this point.  🙂

I love working with women and your session is highly customized depending on what you want.  Soft, sweet, edgy, sexy…whatever it is – it’s going to be great.  Here are a few photos from a recent session testing out my new lighting system.  It’s KILLER! 🙂

I sometimes hate to share before and afters.

I hate it because I don’t want people to think the after is simply a result of hair and makeup.

I hate it because I don’t want people to think that it has anything to do with me.  Yes, it’s true – I light, pose and edit in a killer way, but I’m a small part of it.  My client has a major part in the transformation.

I love to share before and afters because I can show you that these transformations happen with the every day woman.  Sometimes I feel like potential clients think they could never be like the women in my photos. These kind of photos show you that YOU CAN!  The transformation that happens in your confidence is what I love the most about these shoots – it has absolutely nothing to do with your looks.  There I said it.  How you look is such a small part of what I love to do for women!

This mom of two is truly amazing and the self love that resulted from this shoot is something I’ll be sharing on the blog in a few weeks.  For now, I leave you with a before and after – to grab your attention – shake you into submission – and tell you that you too can be like the women in my photos!
