Did you doing that being a boudoir photographer is the highlight of my life?!!? haha.  If you follow my blog or have read any of my boudoir posts, you can tell that I LOVE my job.  And, I’m so thankful to be able to say that I love what I do – I’m not sure everyone is as lucky as I am.  You can also tell how much I love boudoir by looking at all the blog tips I’ve posted about boudoir this year.  I love helping clients plan for their sessions and giving them as much information as possible is my job.  I want to be able to prepare you, give you tips, let you know what works, what doesn’t work — you will have more information that you’ll probably ever need before stepping into the studio.

This beautiful woman brought one lingerie item to her photo shoot – this beautiful bra and panty set, which she totally rocked!  Everything else we used during her session was from my small collection of items.  In addition to giving you information, I also helping with styling, so any questions you have on what to buy, I am more than happy to answer.  Plus, if there’s something you want to buy and I already have it in my collection, you get to save money! 🙂

So, a few months back I had one of my clients bring a Persian rug to her session.  She and her husband sold these rugs and she knew he’d love to see some sexy photos of her laying on the rug.  Well, my creative juices exploded when she brought this huge rug into the studio and we unrolled it!  It was amazing!  I caught a glimpse of the price tag and knew I’d never be able to afford it.

I knew after that boudoir shoot that I wanted to find a similar rug so that I can use it during some of my sessions.  I found the perfect rug after lots of research and have been able to use it a few times!

Here are just a few photos with the rug.  It’s nice to be able to add this when the mood strikes me AND that I can offer lots of different setups to my clients!  I have so much stuff that I could probably spend 4 hours on each photo shoot!  HA!  No one would last that long, but I have to say that it’s so great to be able to offer a good selection to my clients.

After the rug, I just had to get this gorgeous woman on the floor! 🙂

If you’ve read some of my other posts, you know that I used to be extremely overweight.  I understand the plight of plus size women (gosh, I really hate that term) – I remember worrying about whether I could fit into the booth at a restaurant, could I squeeze my butt into those seats on roller coasters.  Yes, those were real worries I had all those years ago.

Last week, a potential client completed the boudoir session questionnaire and asked if I had experience with plus size women.  If you look thru my blog and prior shoots, you can see that I show women of all different sizes.  That’s very important to me.  I don’t hire models to showcase my boudoir work.  The women you see on my site are real women, real clients who have graciously let me share their photos.  Whenever I do a “model call” to test out studio changes, I am looking for women who want the boudoir experience.  Never models.

You see, I truly feel that boudoir photo shoots are for every woman.  I have to know how to work with all body types and I embrace my curvy ladies!  Nothing should hold you back from having this amazing experience.  It’s normal to be nervous but together we’ll work thru those nerves!

 I love that this beautiful woman, along with all my curvy girls, embraced all she had and jumped head first into a boudoir photo shoot.  I wish I had had her courage all those years ago – I wish I had had that “who gives a crap what other people think” attitude.  I applaud her for that!  She was so amazing to work with and trusted me throughout the boudoir process, and I love that women can trust me to do this for them.  My heart is filled with joy.
