MARY! MARY!!! What great senior photo shoot! I can’t even begin to explain the fun and laughs we had during her shoot. I love that my photography gets me in touch with people like Mary. She was incredibly sweet, kind and so energetic. She told me that she enjoyed exchanging emails with me but was a little nervous to meet me. Well, we clicked immediately and had a blast during her session.

Mary, thanks so much for the honor of being your photographer! It has been such a pleasure to work with you and I am so excited for you to begin your senior year! You’ve got a bright future ahead of you and I can’t see all that awaits you! Can’t wait until you are in front of my camera again! 🙂

Oh Mary. Those eyes. I can’t stop looking at them!

Me, mom and Mary were squealing over the photos the entire night. What a treat for me to have absolutely awesome clients who I can laugh with, smile with, and joke with … it only makes the shoot more fun and the photos more fabulous! Love that my clients can trust me and relax pretty quickly.

Boudoir Tips – What Not to Do for your Boudoir Photo Shoot

Something very important to discuss in planning your boudoir photo shoot is what NOT to do. Yes, there are things you shouldn’t here and I’m here to highlight just a few of those for you. I have separate blog posts about Pinterest and spray tans but these are general items you should consider avoiding.

Don’t show up with chipped nail polish

Nope, this can’t be edited out of the photos. If you want painted nails, make sure the coat is fresh and looks great. Your hands and nails will be in the photos so it’s important to take care of them prior to your photo shoot.

Don’t wear tight clothes to your session

You want to wear loose clothing the day of your session. Tight clothes can leave marks on your body – think sock lines! Some photographers can attempt to take out these lines others won’t. I am from the mindset that I try to do everything possible prior to the photo shoot so that the editing like this is limited. Also, wear a shirt that is button down or zip up – don’t want to ruin the hair and makeup by pulling something over your head.

Don’t show up without having tried your lingerie on

This sounds obvious, right? But, it happens. Do not assume that the outfits you purchase will fit. Make sure you try them on before your session – they should fit appropriately and allow for some movement. There’s nothing worse than arriving for your session to find that your lingerie does not fit properly.

No spray tan or bronzing lotion

I created a whole blog post on this but no spray tans. Spray tans and bronzing lotion can have an orange tint. This cannot be taken out of the photos.

Ah, Tricia and Ben. An amazing couple that I have been so honored to work with. From the moment you meet them, you feel like their friends. But, even more special is that I felt like family during their wedding. Tricia is an amazing woman who is the kindest and sweetest woman – she loves her family and loves her new husband – and that love was so apparent during her wedding day. There were many moments throughout the day where Tricia got emotional just because she was so excited to marry the man of her dreams! So many touching moments from beginning to end and my heart is so full of love when I think about this wonderful couple.

Here are just a few preview photos from their day on Saturday – it was perfect from beginning to end! I can’t wait to really get into their photos to look at the magic that was their wedding. Thank you Tricia and Ben for letting us be a part of your day!

This was their “boy band pose” – it was all their idea!

I was told that if I put this photo on my website that I would make a million dollars. I’ll let you boys know when the money starts rolling in!

Tricia’s mom was present throughout the day. Tricia wore her mother’s veil, which has survived 30 years!

Boudoir – The Sweater

Ah, the sweater. Clients can often overlook the use of very simple items in their boudoir photo shoot. I sometimes find that these types of items can give a relaxed and sexy appeal to the photos. With the fabulous styling and posing, a simple little sweater can be made into a sexy lingerie item – who knew?!? Well, I did. haha.

When thinking about outfits for your boudoir session, keep in mind items like this. Modest pieces can work really well for shy girls too – if you start with this kind of outfit, it relaxes you…then BAM! You’re ready to go with some super sexy lingerie. Other modest pieces to use for your session – leg warmers. I’m not talking about the 1980s Jane Fonda leg warmers but some modern chunky leg warmers or knee highs – they would go perfectly with a sweater like this.

The next photo is probably my favorite from her session. When I pulled it down over her shoulder, I yelled, “Oh, hello there, Flashdance!” Another 1980s reference in this blog post!

Zack’s Senior Photo Shoot

Welcome to Zack’s senior photo shoot blog post. What a fine young gentleman and there was no shortage of laughs and smiles during his session. I am so happy that Zack’s mom, Clara, found me and I feel honored to have captured this amazing man’s personality in his senior photos. Everything for his shoot came together perfectly!

Here are just a few photos from his session.

The next photo is my favorite from his session. I love his smile, enthusiasm and personality but when I asked for “no smile” this is what I got. I just love that I can feel so much to who he is in this photo. What a fine young gentleman, and I was the lucky one to be chosen as his photographer.

Ok so funny thing. Zack attends Montour High School and plays football and wrestles. (Umm..have you seen his muscles?!?!) Well, when he brought out his jacket for a few photos, I said, “Why didn’t you just wear your wrestling leotard?” He looked at me with the most shocked expression and said, “Did you really just call what I wear a leotard?” I was then schooled on the fact that it’s called a singlet. Singlet, leotard – same thing! hahaha. We laughed so hard!!! I love the connection I have with these kids!

All those muscles pop up when he crosses his arm!

Zack’s personality is one of a kind and I LOVED being able to capture that in his photos. He laughs, smiles, raises his eyebrows…love all his funny looks. But, the one thing I cherished most about him was that every time I had him look at his mother he smiled at her. What love and affection he has for his mother and that was so touching to see!
