I’ll admit it. I have a love affair with my chandelier and my mirror. Two things I couldn’t live without for my boudoir photography Pittsburgh photo shoots. They add so much class and elegance to the photos and my clients love these photos as part of their collection. Add in my beautiful clients and you have an amazing boudoir photo.

I love shooting from this angle and thru the chandelier. It gives a slightly voyeuristic feel to the image. I love shooting in all the different angles and positions and my studio space allows me to do this. What I don’t do during shoots is just stand there and push a button. I’m up, down and running around to get every angle of a pose. I love giving a variety of options to my clients in their boudoir photo collection!

I purchased the mirror from Home Goods. I have a mini-obsession with Home Goods! Sometimes I’ll come home with new props, Tony won’t notice for a while, then finally ask when I got that prop…..and I just say, “Oh, it’s been here for a while!” Hee hee.

The chandelier is a purchase from Amazon. Another one of my favorite places to shop. Amazon Prime is an awesome thing!

With a bridal boudoir photo shoot, it’s all in the details. Producing those boudoir photos that don’t show your face but highlight the sexy beauty of the bride take a bit of work and thought. But, they produce some of the best photos from the entire boudoir photo shoot collection. I have so much fun focusing on the details of lingerie items that my clients bring to their sessions. Sexiness can be defined in a photo by the thought it produces by the recipient. And, I find when I focus on a detail in a bra or a bow in a babydoll or even some super sexy heels – it all makes for a perfect collection. I strive for a collection of photos that give clients a great deal of variety and options when choosing what photos to present to the recipient. I personally love options, so I tend to give clients great options in their photos so that there is something for everyone to love! If your significant other loves your butt, then I’ll take some photos that highlight your “ass”et. (Did you see what I did there?!?! hahaha)

Jamie & Jason’s Wedding

Jamie and Jason were married on July 4th – it was a small and intimate gathering with family and close friends. We had a lot of time to capture their bridal portraits in both of Jamie’s dresses. Yes, you can kick it up a notch even in a small wedding! It was so amazing to see the love for each other and their families. I love weddings like this.

Enjoy a few photos form their wedding – the barn, pond, horses – everything was perfect.

Jamie’s parents had some construction going on to get the ceremony site ready for the wedding but I think it turned out beautifully!

I heart chandeliers!

As a Pittsburgh wedding photographer, I love capturing all the little details from the wedding day. Jamie had the tables decorated so beautifully! They were family styled tables, which I absolutely loved!

This is a beautiful necklace from Jamie’s great-grandmother. It was in this beautiful case with a photo on the back. It was one of the most unique things I’ve ever seen at a wedding! Love these little touches and details that make the day so special!

Our first stop on the family property was the barn! I love the color and texture of the barn and it was an amazing spot for photos.

After the ceremony, Jamie changed dresses and we made a quick stop with the horses, who were eager for the peppermints that Jamie was feeding them. Peppermints – who knew!

These are Jamie’s brothers and their finance and girlfriend. Jamie’s mom asked me to take some photos of them – so sweet!

A common complaint I hear from women when they first contact me about a boudoir photo shoot is that they are not photogenic. I always assure them that it doesn’t matter whether you are photogenic or not, and that should not be the one thing that should hold you back from doing a boudoir photo shoot. There are many things that go into making an awesome boudoir photo – lighting, posing, editing, attitude (yours, not mine) – and let’s not forget hair and makeup. While that’s important, it’s really a small part of what goes into the photo but it certainly helps you feel sexy and confident. I want to touch on one point in this post – attitude – but more importantly, your comfort level. This dictates so much of the photos and I really do pride myself on getting you to relax and be comfortable with me. We laugh A LOT during the session – it should be fun, encouraging and empowering – and I want you to feel all those things during your session. Your boudoir transformation will be amazing when all these things come together. So, for the shy girls, the un-photogenic women, the women who say they have a few pounds to lose before they can do a shoot – it doesn’t matter. Your transformation will be amazing!

Bradlee Turns 1

I have had the immense pleasure of watching Bradlee grow over the last year. From her newborn session, 6 months, 1 year and even her birthday party – I’ve been there for every moment. And, let’s not forget the wedding of her parents too!

Nicole, Bradlee’s mom, is an amazing woman that I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. Her, and her family, have welcomed me like I was one of their own and it has been an honor of mine to be a part of their lives over the last 15 months. Nicole has enriched my life in so many amazing ways and I’m so thankful for her support, encouragement and trust in me to be her photographer. I’m super excited for our next journey!

Here are just a few photos from Bradlee’s one year session, but first some special photos. When we scheduled her 1 year session, Nicole asked if I would mind taking some photos of her great grandfather and the family – a total of 5 generations! How special is it to have 5 generations! Her great grandfather was amazing – so full of smiles and happiness and I really think he enjoyed having everyone around him. And, boy, did he love looking at Bradlee – his face just lit up when she came over to him. These are moments and photos that I cherish beyond words could express. I really hope the family treasures these photos as much as I do. I really think this is something every family should have!
