2014 Senior – Kevin – Blackhawk High School {Pittsburgh Senior & Portrait Photographer}

Meet Kevin.

Kevin will be a senior next year at Blackhawk High School.  We had such a great time with Kevin on our photo shoot.  Most boys are timid or shy around the camera – not Kevin.  He was ready and willing to do what we asked, which was great!

Here are some of my favorites from our shoot

Goin’ to the Chapel – Shannon & Dave {Pittsburgh Engagement & Wedding Photographer}

On June 1, Shannon and Dave will be gettin’ hitched!  We got to spend some time with them for engagement photos.  They brought Luca, Shannon’s son, to the shoot to get some family photographs.  Luca and Tony became fast friends and Tony spent most of his time running after Luca, and got some great shots of him in the process.

Can’t wait for their wedding in June…it’s quickly approaching!!

I love how Luca looked back at them even though I told him to look at me!

Luca is a ball full of energy.

This looks like an old antique postcard

So dreamy…..she’s exactly where she needs to be and Dave protects her and gives her comfort.  Gushing!!

He’s a looker for sure!

Below capture is from Tony!  Love how Dave’s trying to get it but Shannon’s holding back just a little! 🙂

Sayin’ I do – Jen & Mike {Pittsburgh Engagement & Wedding Photographer}

It was a great honor of mine to tag along on this engagement session with my mentor, Heather Lahtinen (WeddingsByHeather.com).

Heather has helped (and is still helping) mold me as a photographer.  I’ve invested a lot of time into her teachings and I’ve come out FAR better for it.  I’ve learned more from her than any book or college professor could teach me.  Not only is she an amazing photographer but she’s my life coach and a Jesus freak….needless to say I LOVE HER!!!  I was honored when she asked me to come along with her on this shoot – It’s great to see her in action.  And, I got a real good sense of Tony’s job during our shoots with our clients.  I didn’t have to worry about posing anyone, making sure things weren’t sticking out heads, etc … I said to Heather in the middle of the session, “Tony has the easy photography job!”  I’m sure he’d disagree but it’s nice working as a team.

Thanks Heather for letting me be a fly on the wall!  Can’t wait for the wedding…

Mommy & Me – Megan, Andrew, Acen & Avery {Pittsburgh Family & Portrait Photographer}

We got to spend some time with Megan, Andrew, Acen and Avery.

I’ll admit … Megan is my (Maura’s) sister.  Which, obviously, makes Andrew & Acen my nephews and Avery my niece.  I’m sure you’ll see lots of photos of them on our website eventually – my sister loves having a photographer in the family.

Andrew (he’s 10) doesn’t normally let me take his picture unless it’s of him playing baseball or lacrosse.  Upon hearing that I was going to put some of these photos on the website, he jumped at the chance to have his picture taken.  He thinks he’s going to be famous now that his picture is on this website for the “world” (his word) to see.  HA!  He was looking over our website … proofreading to make sure everything was correct … and said, “You’re putting my pictures on here, right?”  I say, “Yes, absolutely.”  He says, “OK, you tell everyone that I’m a great kid and I’m going to be a photographer some day, and that soon I will be working with you and Uncle Tony!”  So, we will be hiring Andrew soon…I often give him my camera and let him snap some pictures and he does a great job.  He’s one of my favorite people in the world!!

As I was speaking with Andrew, Acen walked into the room and asked what I was going to say about him on the website.  I asked, “What do you want me to say?”  He says, “You tell everyone that I’m the best singer and dancer.”  I said, “You got it!  Now, what do I say about Avery?”  Acen flat out says with all seriousness, “She’s sassy.”

So, world (wink, wink) Andrew is going to be an amazing photographer someday, Ace is the best singer and dancer I’ve ever seen (seriously, his wedding dance moves are to die for), and Avery is just plain sassy.

Here are some quick photos from our shoot.  I hold these extra special in my heart since I love seeing my sister’s kids shower love upon her!

Meet Acen…

This is what boys do when they aren’t the subject of my pictures…

Acen looked like he was in jail.

This photo below makes my  heart sing with joy.  As a photographer, I live for moments like this.

I wasn’t going to include the photo below but I showed it to my sister and she loved it.  Why?  Because it shows their personalities.  Andrew – the big responsible kid who likes to take care of everyone, Avery – the sassiest girl I know, and Ace – who marches to the beat of his own drummer and could care less if someone is taking his picture (he’s looking off to Tony).

Sweet little munchkin.

My beautiful sister!!!

Foster & Nikki {Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer}

Foster & Nikki….it was a beautiful Hilton Head day for a wedding.  These are just some quick captures from their day.

Immediately after the ceremony Nikki and Foster walked away with Foster’s daughter, Emma.

So ethereal.

This was a complete rockstar moment.  Foster sang a song to Nikki and this was immediately after.  Wowsers!!

Foster’s mom Carol cutting it loose on the dance floor.  She loves to dance!
