If you’ve read my blog before or had a boudoir shoot with me, you may already know that I cry a lot in this job.  Tears of unbelievable happiness and joy! 🙂  I have been known to cry during sessions – at what I see happening, the connection I have with someone, the confidence that comes out, the laughing fits that turn to tears – I cry.  Sometimes I see something so deep in my client’s eyes that it moves me in ways that I can’t explain.

And, I’ve been known to cry when I get feedback from my clients after they’ve seen their photos.  Their reaction is something that is very special to me and I love hearing about the transformation that happens during and after the session.  I’ve heard some amazing things from client – one being that I’ve touched her soul ….

Boudoir sessions are so powerful!

In January, I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing a boudoir for a fellow photographer.  She does not photograph boudoir as she focuses solely on weddings, but she knows good photos from bad photos.  I’ll be honest – I was nervous before her photo shoot – it’s really different to photograph someone who has a deep knowledge of photography.  But, it was nothing short of spectacular – an amazing day with an amazing woman.  She sent me a wonderful testimonial that I’m sharing with you below.

As I said at the beginning, I’m super excited about some changes I’m making to the studio.  They are new additions that I’m very anxiously awaiting completion of before sharing them all with you.  I will be running a model call later this month – when everything is finished – so stay tuned to the Facebook page or join my private boudoir group on Facebook (click here for that group) to be alerted when I’m releasing the model call.

First up, a new scene!

I’m finally utilizing the fireplace and mantle in the studio.  It’s a long time coming but I am excited to finally utilize this little space in the studio.  The perfect stool, pillow and rug make it come together even better!

Second, a new headboard!

Woo hoo!  A new white headboard is being delivered for all the bed photos!  I love the headboard I have now but needed to revamp it.  This one is taller and will spark my creative side as new poses can be utilized!

Third, paint!

Oh, yes, I had part of the studio painted to allow for a new backdrop in the studio.  It looks awesome in photos and I may even add a mirror to the wall to give it a little more spice!

Fourth, Gold, baby!

I had some new wires hung up in the studio that makes it much easier to utilize my awesome gold fabric and the bench that accompanies it!  I love the look of the gold wall!

Finally, FLOWER WALL!

This may be the one I’m most excited about.  I am making a flower wall backdrop.  They will be handmade paper flowers in pinks and a pastel purple.  It’s going to be gorgeous and it’s great for some soft and romantic photos!  I am so excited to make this happen – this is the piece that’s going to take the longest … about a month to put together.  It’s going to be a hard, long wait but it’s going to be SO WORTH IT!
