Grayson

Grayson has been such a joy to watch grow over the last two years. I photographed him as a newborn, then 6 months, 1 year and now two years. This boy just gets happier and happier – let alone bigger and bigger! I always enjoy having him in front of my camera because he gives me such a mix of expressions. I typically call his photo shoots “The Many Faces of Grayson” – I always get a smile on my face when his mom contacts me for photos because I know I’m in for tons of fun.

First up in his 2 year photo shoot was some quick family photos! Adam and Jess have such a beautiful family.

Oh, I’m just going to get up and march over here!

It was really hot the day of his session and we were all sweating, including Grayson. But, the heat would not deter him especially when he got some close look at the trains that were going by our shooting location. He loves trains so this was the perfect spot for his photo shoot!Love this expression while watching the trains go by.

This beautiful woman was awesome enough to let me share some of her boudoir photos as long as I didn’t show her face or reveal her identity. OK, great – I’ll take it! This makes for a great blog post about your privacy.

I love to maintain my client’s privacy. Clients always provide approval before any photos appear on my website. I have photographed a lot of teachers, politicians, government officials (women who I can’t even know what they do) and doctors who need their privacy maintained, and I’m all for that. These photos are for you, not me. Ultimately, I want you to love your experience with me and the photos we’ve produced. I could care less about being able to share your photos on my blog. Yes, it’s a great and awesome bonus to doing a boudoir photo shoot but it’s not something I go into looking to do with your images.

I completely respect your request for privacy. I’m thankful that you’ve chosen me as your boudoir photographer. I will never pressure you to allow me to share your photos on my blog. You can certainly tell me I can share them (and I may give you a big hug for that) but I would never make you feel like you needed to be online! 🙂

Ben Loves Tricia

Welcome to Tricia and Ben’s wedding blog post! What a lovely occasion that we got to celebrate with them. Here are a few photos from their wedding in August at Twelve Oaks Mansion!

First up, photos at the hotel as Tricia got ready! I love this moment with all her bridesmaids.

Tricia’s sister Emily pinning a locket on the bouquet in remembrance of their mother. Tricia’s mom was certainly there in spirit and I loved all the little touches that Tricia had to honor her mom.

Tricia was wearing her mother’s veil. How touching and sweet. Love this photo of Emily putting the veil in. I promised Tricia I wouldn’t cry during her wedding but I kept my camera up to my face to hide my emotion at this point.

OK, so I was photographing the boys. I asked them for a fun pose, they couldn’t get it. So, I left and went to retrieve the girls who were waiting inside. I come back out and they say, “We did it! Boy band pose!” Well, I didn’t even get in on the fun since Tony was the one who stuck outside with the guys.

When the girls heard and saw the photo on the back of Tony’s camera, they wanted in on the action. We got this! I LOVE LOVE LOVE having fun with my couples and their bridal parties. They make my job SO. MUCH. FUN!!

Time for Ben and Tricia’s portraits. It was another short session. The heat was unbearable so we had 15 minutes to get everything done outside! 🙂 Challenge accepted.

Kissing Tricia’s foreheard is something Ben does and she wanted to make sure it was captured! How sweet and tender.

She loves him! 🙂

First dance!

There was a very small sunset and I wanted to take advantage of it so when I saw them outside talking to some guests I asked them to step over to the side of the mansion for some quick photos. These two are so special and I loved being able to capture their day!

The next photo may be my favorite of the whole day. I have a soft spot for grandparents. My grandfather was my best friend so I’m always looking for moments to photograph grandparents interacting with the bride and groom. Loved this little candid moment of Tricia laughing with her grandparents while on the dance floor. Her grandfather is a hoot! 🙂

A little reception fun for you! What an awesome group of people – they had fun on the dance floor all night long. Photo bombers galore but they made me smile all day!

Buxom Bridal Boudoir

I recently attended a bootcamp that was not specifically photography related but more about personal development – setting goals, personal statements, mantras, develop new ways of thinking, etc. It was amazing (if you want details on that, please contact me). The one question that took me back during the bootcamp was “Why do you do it?” “It” being boudoir photography.

Here’s my answer.

Have you ever known that you were destined to do something? That every road you’ve taken lead you to the moment you are right now? That there is a passion inside of you that you HAVE to get out? There is no other alternative than pursuing that passion?

That’s how I feel about boudoir. I don’t have an alternative in my life. This is my passion, my calling, my sweet spot. Everything about this job is what I was MADE to do with my life. How’s that for an answer?!?! 🙂

Working with incredible women in the Pittsburgh and eastern Ohio region has brought me so much joy, and my life is only made better when I spend my time doing what I love! LOVE!!!

I was asked during the bootcamp what defines success for me.

And, for me it’s not money, power or other riches. I’ve had some of that when I worked in Corporate America and it never sustained me – it was never enough.

How do I define my success now – feel passion every day!

A few weeks ago, I had a boudoir shoot in the morning and a senior shoot in the evening. I should have been exhausted when I arrived home, but I was pumped, excited, thankful for an amazing day, and super excited to get up the next day to start all over again!

From the moment you contact me to the day your photos are delivered, you will know that this is my passion. Wouldn’t it be great to do a photo shoot with someone you know has a passion for it?!?! 🙂 I’d certainly want that kind of person photographing me!

My passion is fueled by these women who touch my life more than they’ll know!

Beautiful Baby Belly

OK, so this is going to be a long post. Get ready.

I have a real hard time putting into words how much this beautiful woman has touched my life! From the moment we met until today (when we still exchange emails), she’s become a friend and I love that about this job. You can see a trend in my blog posts that clients often become friends – how awesome is that?!?! Upon entering the studio, in the first minute I knew I was going to connect with her. She was fun, funny, happy … and I was able to immediately get her to relax. It was perfect from beginning to end! Lots of funny moments mixed in too because you know that there is some craziness that happens with your body when you are pregnant. I don’t know that from personal experience (i.e. I’m no mother) but I’ve seen a lot doing maternity boudoir photography pittsburgh.

As soon as hair and makeup was over, we had a chat. I love to do that before we jump right into the photos – take a minute, relax, enjoy champagne (well, not in her case but I’m sure the water tasted fantastic), and just talk.

THIS WOMAN IS AMAZING!!! Enjoy some of her photos and read below to hear some of her amazing feedback to me. And, guess what?!? I’ll be doing her birth photography shortly! 🙂 Love how connected I get with my clients.

After I sent her a few preview photos (about 30 minutes after she left the studio), I received this beautiful email back:

Ican’t even begin to explain how thankful I am that I found you and even more grateful that you were more awesome than I could’ve ever even imagined! I was so anxious but from the moment I walked in, all nerves disappeared. I never thought I would be so comfortable immediately with someone. You made me feel like a Victoria’s Secret bikini model when that is the complete opposite of my current state, haha! I am eternally grateful for the time we had together today! My belly hurts from laughing so much! (I’m a huge sap!)

The previews are AWESOME. Man girl, you work fast! I am dying to see the rest now!! I already texted my best friend who was considering it and told her it is a MUST WITH YOU!

Thank you again .. For everything. Have an awesome night and tell your hubby I’m sorry for holding you hostage all afternoon!

Oh, and then the sweater. These may be some of my favorite photos EVER! 🙂

A new level of excitement was reached when she got on the Victorian sofa!

And finally, once she gave the photos, I received this – I’ll admit it. I cried.

I have some big news for you. So, I couldn’t hold in my secret any longer so I showed [fiancé’s name removed] one picture last night and one picture led to 10 which then led to signing into the website and he looked at every picture! I gave [the album] to him this morning. He was blown away by your work! He was beyond impressed and extremely happy! He was speechless last night and again this morning looking at them in actual print. He wants me to thank you for doing such beautiful work and bringing me out of my shell and release all inhibitions in front of the camera. He still can’t believe it’s me in the pictures! Both of us want to thank you for your amazing work! You are amazing as an artist and a person!

Finally, I leave you with this. A private moment between mom and baby. I cried after I took this photo.
